The most important resource for displaced musicians is probably MUSICARES. They have a hurricane relief fund for musicians at http://www.grammy.com/musicares. They can also be reached toll-free at 877-626-2748. Please contact them to find out if you qualify to access funds. And, if you are not a musician but want to help, you can find out how to donate. |

KATHERINE DAWN CDs TO AID HURRICANE RELIEF
TMC member Katherine Dawn has sent word that she is donating $3 dollars from each CD she sells at her "Barefoot & Pregnant Tour" performances (including the TMC Birthday Showcase) towards hurricane relief. There is also a donation link on her Web site, www.katherinedawn.com, for the Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Father Flanagan's Boys and Girls Town and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church are requesting donations for 64 refugees, mostly children, that are being housed at the church. Donations are being accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Boys and Girls Town, 503 Urban Loop, downtown across from the Holiday Inn. Items needed are diapers, bottles, sippy cups, oscillating fans, clothing, games, toiletries and other items children need, as well as food items, including milk. More then 80 dogs and cats that were displaced by Hurricane Katrina are ready for adoption in San Antonio. The pets were forced to leave the Animal Control Center in Baton Rouge, La., and were transferred to the Bexar County Humane Society. The animals of different breeds and sizes will be vaccinated, microchiped, spayed or neutered for about $45. The shelter in the 4800 block of Fredericksburg Road will be open until 7 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday. |

The Humane Society/SPCA of Bexar County is accepting donations of dog and cat food, cat litter, crates, food bowls, leashes and collars to deliver to the disaster area next week. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter at 4804 Fredericksburg Road. For more information, call (210) 226-7461.

The Robot Art Gallery is organizing an art-related fundraiser to support Red Cross relief efforts. The Web site www.artforneworleans.com will display artwork from and about New Orleans.
